I understand that it is reported that overall CofE attendance figures are declining. Between 2000 and 2010 a report show that most dioceses (but not all) show a decline in church attendance figures. Most dioceses report a continuing yer on year decline. What on earth is happening? Is it time someone woke up to this? Surely action is required. However, more than man made action is needed. It is time for the church to be on its knees. We have tried Spring Harvest, Fresh Expressions, New wine and countless other ventures. O Lord, pour out your Holy Spirit. Be prepared for change.

"Your sins are forgiven." Who can forgive sins but God alone? Only God alone! To the scribes and Pharisees jesus was either God (to them - unlikely) or a blasphemer. "Take up you bed and walk." Who can heal miraculously but God alone. The scribes and Pharisees had God in a box. They had limited expectations of him. Their minds were closed. They were threatened nad thei status challenged. Mmmmmmmmm. Sounds like I've heard that recently.

Colossians 1: 12 - 14 " giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." Note the Father has qualified you to share inheritance rescued us brought us forgiveness of sins
