Recommended Book
I read on a Christian blog a recommendation for the book "Notes from an Exhibition" by Patrick Gale.
It is an interesting book in many ways. Unfortunately, in my opinion it is not a book to recommend to Christians. The spiritual content revolves around a Quaker family. By page 134 one of the sons is involved in a sexual liason with a woman met in an hotel. This is described in some detail. Two other characters in the book, at least, are involved in homosexual activity. This is described in approving terms. No mention is even suggested that homosexual activity is far removed from God's best for us.
The apostle Paul wrote
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice." Philippians 4:8
The book is quite well written, but I Cannot recommend it for Christians.
